Michelle is a lawyer and a veteran legal recruiter with almost two decades of experience helping law firms, corporations and public sector organizations identify the best attorneys for their hiring needs. She has substantial experience counseling and placing partners, associates, general counsels and other in-house attorneys in challenging and rewarding positions at top international law firms, renowned regional firms, highly regarded Chicago based boutiques, Fortune 500 corporations and privately held companies.
In addition to her recruiting responsibilities at Atticus, Michelle also consults on a weekly basis at The University of Chicago Law School’s Office of Career Services counseling alumni with their legal careers and preparing second and third year law students for on-campus interviews.
Michelle’s expertise and knowledge of the legal market has been called upon in career panel discussions hosted by the University of Chicago Law School, Northwestern University School of Law, the University of Illinois College of Law, Loyola University Chicago School of Law, the Chicago Bar Association and Teach for America.
Prior to becoming a legal recruiter, Michelle practiced law for almost twelve years. Much of her career focused on serving the legal needs of the indigent and supervising law students in the practice of law. She began her career with a Skadden Fellowship and subsequently lectured in clinical law at the University of Chicago Law School and Stanford Law School. Many of Michelle’s former students have become hiring partners, department chairs, general counsels, corporate executives, senior government and public sector attorneys and law school professors.
