September was a busy month in the Chicago Legal Recruiting market. We had two federal law clerks start employment as associates with their respective law firms, a highly acclaimed litigation boutique and a very successful and growing Am Law 200 full-service firm. Both attorneys received salary bumps from their original offers due to the new associate pay scale that went into effect for many firms on September 1st. While most Am Law 100 law firms won’t accept federal clerk submissions from legal recruiters, we work with several exceptional law firms that do.
We also received four offers for our clients, two of which were accepted and the other two remain open. The accepted offers were for a Construction Law associate at an Am Law 100 firm and a Commercial Litigation Associate at a Chicago boutique.
We ended September with a junior litigation associate client having a successful first round of job interviews at another notable Chicago law boutique. As we enter October, a third federal clerk starts with her law firm this week, two job offers are pending and five clients have scheduled interviews at multiple law firms.
Law firm hiring remains brisk. We have exceptional boutique, Am Law 100 and in-house opportunities in litigation, corporate, commercial finance, and real estate.
